FAQ

Is this an exact replica of Portra 400 film?

No. The Portra Filter is inspired by the feel and color response of Portra 400, not a one to one recreation. It delivers a film inspired look optimized for digital cameras.

Is this a preset or LUT?

No. This is a physical camera filter. The look is created optically at capture, not applied in post.

How strong is the diffusion?

The diffusion is subtle by design. It lifts highlights and smooths transitions without making images look foggy or soft (Diffusion equivalent 1/4).

Can I still color grade footage shot with the Portra Filter?

Yes. The filter provides a strong base look that still grades cleanly and predictably.

Does the polarizer rotate?

Yes. The chroma polarizer is adjustable, you can fine tune glare reduction based on your composition.
