The Helix MagLock VND/PL was designed by Pete to never have to thread a filter again, and combine a polarizer and VND filter to reduce the filter stack. The new Chroma Glass delivers zero color shift at both the 2-5 stop and 6-9 stop ranges.

The 6-9 VND/PL is designed to shoot wide open apertures in extremely bright conditions. The 6-9 version is also used for long exposure landscape shots. The new Chroma Glass delivers zero color shift at both the 2-5 stop and 6-9 stop ranges.

The 2-5 VND/PL | Black Mist is designed to shoot cinematic shutter speeds and features a 1/4 Strength Black Mist effect. This 3-in-1 filter minimizes the filter stack for those who are looking for a cinematic look.

The 6-9 VND/PL | Black Mist is designed to shoot wide open and cinematic shutter speeds with a 1/4 Strength Black Mist. This filter is for shooting long exposure photos or cinematic shutter down to f1.2.

VND/PL

Set VND stops and tune polarization for hyper neutral color rendition.

VND/PL | Black Mist

Combines a Polarizer, VND, and ¼ Black Mist into a single filter. The added Black Mist provides subtle halation around highlights, while retaining shadow depth.

VND/PL | ⅛ Gold Mist

Combines a Polarizer, VND, and ⅛ Gold Mist into a single filter. The Gold Mist works to create a warming effect on highlights with a slight golden bloom.

FAQ

Are the stop values meant to be adjusted two-handed?

Yes. The recommended procedure is to set the stop value before you begin shooting. The polarization can be easily adjusted one-handed on the fly.

I lost the front and/or rear cap for my VND/PL, and I don’t see spares on your site. Where can I get a new cap?

Can I stack a separate Mist filter with my VND/PL?

Yes! Stacking a Mist filter with a VND/PL is a popular way to increase flexibility.

Are the VND/PLs compatible with stock lens hoods?

No. VND filters contain two glass elements rather than one, so they need to be made wider than other filters to minimize vignetting. As a result, they’ll generally prevent stock lens hoods from fitting.

What are the strength value for the Black Mist and the Gold Mist Filters?
